Diamonds are one of the most spectacular things man has ever known. Even kings and queen of the past had a special liking for diamonds. Many royalties even made collections of expensive diamonds. This further boosted the importance and value of such diamonds. The following are some of the most expensive diamonds in the world, which you will not see when buying a diamond online.
Allnatt Diamond
This spectacular diamond got its name from the English businessman, Alfred Ernest Allnatt. Worth about $3 million, this is a massive cushion cut diamond with a weight of 101.29 carats. The GIA, after examining this diamond in the year 2000, deemed it to be having a Fancy Vivid Yellow color.
The site where this magnificent diamond was found is still unknown. Nevertheless, some people believe that this diamond was found from the same site where you could now see the De Beers Premier Diamond Mine.
Moussaieff Red Diamond
This beautiful diamond is worth about $7 million. The diamond weighs 5.11 carats and features a triangular brilliant cut. The GIA deemed this diamond to be having a Fancy Red color after proper analysis.
This diamond may be comparatively smaller to other expensive diamonds on this list, but it surely is the largest Fancy Red color diamond to be ever examined by the GIA.
Heart of Eternity
The Heart of Eternity is worth about $16 million. This stunning diamond has a heart shape and weighs 27.64 carats. The GIA deemed the color of this diamond to be Fancy Vivid Blue after due examination.
This diamond belongs to a rare category of colored diamonds, which was discovered from the mines of South Africa. The Steinmetz diamond group cut the diamond before selling it to the De Beers Group.
De Beers Centenary Diamond
The De Beers Centenary Diamond has a value of around $100 million. This massive diamond weighs 273.85 carats, and the GIA deemed this diamond to be in the D grade of colorless diamonds. This is the highest diamond grade given by GIA to a diamond that is colorless and has no flaws both internally and externally.
This is also the third biggest diamond to be delivered by De Beers Premier Diamond Mine. This magnificent diamond is not owned by the De Beers anymore though, but the current holder of this stone is also unknown.
